Happy New Year! 2010 is going to be the best most expensive one yet! Why? For one thing, energy taxes will be rising by more than $1 billion. Americans for Tax Reform has compiled a good (albeit depressing) list that you can check out here.
Let’s not forget – aside from the huge amount of revenue this will transfer from the pockets of hardworking families to government coffers, much of this legislation is predicated upon the idea that we must act collectively to stop climate change before the seas rise, sheep shrink, women are forced into prostitution, etc.
What’s that? Oh, right, much of the data that such conclusions are based upon was manipulated by a cabal of scientists, with (some help from the media.)
Well, even if the science is dubious, at least the government has more money to spend on important projects. You didn’t want to spend that yourself, did you?
