Hillary's Tears

Londonistan author Melanie Phillips isn't as a rule a funny writer, but the misfortunes of Hillary Clinton seem to have brought out an unknown side of the solemn Brit scribe:

"In the Telegraph, Toby Harnden tells us that women are deserting Hillary in droves and are swooning over Obama instead. Poor old Hillary has made a major miscalculation. She assumed that because she was a woman - and a feminist to boot - she could take the women's vote for granted. Stuck in the seventies mindset, she failed to realise that today men are the new women."

The video of Senator Clinton choking up is fascinating-when Edmund Muskie supposedly shed tears in New Hampshire, he was irreparably damaged. But in Senator Clinton's case it was, as they say, humanizing. Hearts of stone elsewhere don't agree. (This site also has the video.)

Be that a tear of compassion or an eye lash in her eye who knows what moved Hillary.

I thought it was great. ....And the Oscar goes to Hillary Rodham Clinton for best drama in a Primary Election for President.

I do agree there was a mis-calculation on her part. There are many women that like her, and there are even more that do not like her.

However, the race is not over. This election for the President of the United States of America will be the defining moment for America...Will we elect the First Female President or will we elect the First African American President

What is it with you writers. Why is it you can't call a negro a negro or a black man a black man instead of Afro-Ameican. I don't notice you calling any white US citizens 'Euro-Americans' instead of white or caucausin even though that's where most of our ancestors originated. Damn political correctness all to he double toothpicks.

to Lisa:
What makes you think that the presidential race will either be won by a woman or an african american. Not everybody votes
Democrat thank goodness. Some of us are not liberals, neither do we want all those taxes heaped on us by democrats.
