Being a democrat and a women. I feel the coverage of the media is 100% bias.
Please don't insult my intelligence and explain to me what I just heard. As far as Palin is concerned She would have my vote if she was running for President.
It seems to me that a relatively unknown, barely-vetted, surprise VP candidate should expect close and intense media scrutiny, especially when the RNC Convention is days away. It is the duty of the media to report the full story, not print the campaign fairy tale. It is right of voters to know all about the candidate who might be just a heartbeat away from the Oval Office.
The McCain campaign seemed so wrapped up in deflating Obama's DNC bounce with their big surprise thatthey threw Palin to the wolves. Now they are complaining about the "radical liberal" media as if FNC, Buchanan, Colter, Limbaugh and Corsi hadn't ever attacked the obamas. Palin had better get used to it. Her party will be using her to their best advantage for the next few months.
One has to wonder why a mother would parade her teenage pregnant daughter out on the national stage. One has to assume that unless she is naive, Palin understands that with that decision come consequences. So quit whining about sexism and calling foul on the woman and her family. This is the big leagues.
The convention was full of Republicans wearing Coldest State; Hottest Governor buttons last night. Before the Newt Gingriches, Bill Bennets, and Cindy McCain get all bent out of shape about sexist, unfair attacks on Palin, maybe they should clean up their own houses.
It just seems we can't have it both ways. If Republicans want to say she is strong enough for the job, then we can't also say the media is picking on her. Remember how we decried Hillary's whining? We look hypocritical if we now whine about Palin. The country knows nothing about her, so the media has to do what Sen. McCain needed to do before he picked her. We can't ask people to vote for an unknown, especially when we keep saying no one really knows Obama. We need to have confidence that she can take care of herself and stop complaining about the media because it makes us look scared. And it didn't work for Hillary to do that either!
Of course, the media has been absolutely horrible. Now, it seems that we are finding out it is because THEY didn't get to vet Palin. How can anyone blame McCain? He vetted his running mate, but it's not official until the crooked media says so. We've had to suffer thru months of this biased media, making most of us downright sick of the election coverage. They have conducted themselves so badly that they have made Obama more arrogant and snobbish than he already was. The guy believes his own hype. I hope McCain/Palin blows him and Biden out of the water! Many Americans have been fooled for too long. I am praying that people will wake up before it's too late.
The Republicans should apologize for using a woman, to ask for votes, not because she's the best candidate, but because she's a female. Isn't that what that glass ceiling business was all about?
They've highlighted their selective regard for her gender, with buttons calling her "the hottest governor," and they've put lies and taunts in her mouth, using her gender as a shield, to deflect retaliation, warning Barack Obama not to fight back, because she's a woman . . .
Sarah Palin deserves more respect than that, she should be treated just like any other candidate - she should get as good as she gives . . .
