Years after being advised by a state agency to stop, the Dallas Independent School District continued to provide foreign citizens with fake Social Security numbers to get them on the payroll quickly.
Some of the numbers were real Social Security numbers already assigned to people elsewhere. And in some cases, the state's educator certification office unknowingly used the bogus numbers to run criminal background checks on the new hires, most of whom were brought in to teach bilingual classes.
The practice was described in an internal report issued in September by the district's investigative office, which looked into the matter after receiving a tip. The report said the Texas Education Agency learned of the fake numbers in 2004 and told DISD then that the practice "was illegal."
It's unclear how long DISD had been issuing the phony numbers, and district officials didn't know Thursday how many had been given out. But the investigative report and interviews with DISD employees indicate the practice went on for several years before it was discontinued this past summer.

My Mother was a member of "The Daughters of the Revolution." My direct relative was Colonel John Warner who was a leader during the Battle of Bunker Hill. I have had family members who fought in every war America has been in including recently in Iraq.I was in Viet Nam.
I am appalled at the semi-Communist America haters who have done all they can to allow illegal Aliens to slip into our great country illegally and to receive all the benefits( welfare,Section 8, Health Care,College tuition etc..) while myself and 8 siblings have had to work our entire lives without any Govt help at all. We pay taxes..we are law abiding...we are practicing Catholics who give to the Church's "Saint Vincent De Paul" charity.
I have lost two teaching jobs due to racial quota programs..I lost a TA for grad school due to racial quota programs.And now i am attacked by recent Vietnamese gangs two blocks from my home.I watch as illegals get free health care as I pay through the nose for insurance for me and my family.I watch as Democrats want to pay for home mortgages even for Illegal Aliens.
And I watch as thousands of illegal votes are counted for Democrats who support illegals.Ted Kennedy calls us bigots if we support "English" as our official language.
I go to large stores in Massachusetts where I have to deal with only Spanish speaking clerks.
And worst of all..millions voted for Obama without knowing anything about him and his radical policies.
If we don't stand tall over illegal aliens we WILL lose our country.We will become a second rate socialist country.

I second Mr. Cardarelli's email on a variety of levels.
I simply walk out though if they don't have anyone who can't speak English. As a francophone who grew up in France and Switzerland I know exactly how other parts of the world deal with people who don't speak the local language(s), they don't. When I moved there at 13 I was told to learn and my life was made miserable until I did.
I have a particular loathing for Lowes who seems to think some of their stores are actually in Central America instead of New England.
I also had the pleasure one day of forcing some pencil necked liberal grocery store manager translate a credit card machine that only worked in Spanish. After he "helped" me process my card I thanked him graciously in Spanish. I hoped it was a "teachable" moment.
Why aren't the Feds emprisoning the people who are defrauding the SS Administration?
