WASHINGTON, DC — Next Wednesday, May 10, in a press conference on the eve of Equal Pay Day, the Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) will set the record straight about women’s economic success. The IWF debunks the popular, but baseless, myth of the wage gap with facts — facts that reflect the real choices of real women.

Women are not victims of wage discrimination. At Freedom Plaza, the IWF will expose the political posturing behind Equal Pay Day — a meaningless feminist publicity stunt based on the false factoid that women earn “76 cents on the male dollar” — and prove once and for all that women have achieved economic equality.

  • Date: Wednesday, May 10, 2000

  • Time: 12:30 in the afternoon

  • Place: Freedom Plaza (east end, across from Warner Theater, one block south of Metro Center)13th and Pennsylvania Avenue NW
