Muhammed I. Islamadin of Kabul, Afghanistan, is going broke in the burkha business, reports The Wall Street Journal. The once super salesman recalls the halcyon Taliban days when burkhas were “a wonderful business. Everyone was buying.”

He explains how the Taliban took care of marketing. “Women who didn’t buy got hit with cables. This was bad for them but very good for me.”

These days even discounts don’t lure customers. Mr. Islamadin plans to go into the glassware business.
