In response to the troubling increase in federal spending on the National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) — a division of the National Institutes of Health — IWF hosted a journalists’ roundtable in mid-September.
Saul Green, Ph.D. and Wallace Sampson, M.D., co-founders of The Scientific Review of Alternative Medicine, discussed their findings of NCCAM’s repetitious investigations, recurring grants, implausible methodologies, lack of conclusions, and unending research. Moderating the panel was author Sally L. Satel, M.D.
In attendance were journalists from publications such as the Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, and Reader’s Digest. The remarks of Green, Sampson, and Satel were aired on Janet Parshall’s America the following day.
