Recently, New York’s aptly named Judge Sweet announced to people suing McDonald’s that they had a fat chance of winning their claim against the fast food giant who they claimed forced them into lives of obesity.
Judge Sweet is no fan of McDonald’s food. In fact, he called Chicken McNuggets “a McFrankenstein creation of various elements not utilized by the home cook and argued that fast foods are a very insipid, toxic kind of thing.” But like all other reasonable adults, he concluded that McDonald?s can?t be held legally liable for its clients’ obesity woes.
“If consumers know (or reasonably should know) the potential ill health effects of eating at McDonald’s, they cannot blame McDonald’s if they, nonetheless, choose to satiate their appetite with a surfeit of super-sized McDonald’s products.”
