When 7-year-old Chloe Sousa brought her spelling list home, imagine her mother’s horror when she saw the word “gun.” Now the Sousa’s — self-proclaimed pacifists — have waged an all-out war on their Upper Canada District School Board.
According to WorldNetDaily, Mrs. Sousa says,”The word gun is synonymous with death It’s an issue of protecting your child from violence. Guns are violent. End of story,”
We wonder how Chloe will be protected from violence if she can’t spell “gun.”
But, the school district opted for the easy route, removing the word from the first-grade curriculum and, if the Sousa’s nutty logic holds true, protecting children everywhere.
