This just in: according to Forbes magazine, some of the richest men on the planet also victimize civilians for their day jobs as heads of state. The magazine’s annual list of the ultra-wealthy contains a mixed bag of crooks and dictators, from Saddam Hussein at $2 billion to Fidel Castro with $110 million in personal fortune.
James Tarranto at OpinionJournal.com points out that while American liberals may wax poetic over the need to tax the rich in the United States, it’s ironic that they’re the largest supporters of such political leaders. “Why can’t we all agree that liberating Iraq is a form of class warfare that’s worth waging?”
