“Sex and the City” that HBO smash hit about four Manhattan thirty-somethings too occupied with naughty conversation and $500 Manolo Blahniks to ever reflect on the more important things in life is catching on around the globe.
But while pirated copies of Sex and the City videos are popular around the world, no foreign network has been bold enough to venture into making its own version of the show.
No longer! Now Shanghai will have a “Sex”-style program, this one almost laughingly called Hot Ladies. Billed as exploring the “dysfunctional romantic lives of four twenty-something friends in the Chinese city,” the show will be more dramatic than the already overplayed American original.
More drama? As if the American version weren’t over-the-top enough already!
