The reports that the US is observing a truce with radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, who’s wreaked so much havoc and is not wildly popular with his fellow Muslims, struck me this morning as not good news.
Writing in this morning’s New York Post, Ralph Peters agrees:
“It’s easy to tell when terrorists and thugs are near defeat: They ask for a cease-fire.
“It’s just as simple to tell when the diplomats have overruled our military: We agree to the proposed cease-fire.
“And stop short of victory again.”
