Kurtz quotes Pew pollster Andrew Kohut saying that the changing views of conservatives “reflect the political polarization we’ve seen…It reflects anger on the part of Republicans about the way the media’s treated Bush lately, and also reflects the appeal of Fox News.”


I’d argue it’s more the effect of the media’s increasing inability to conceal a collective viewpoint–in other words, it’s not “a perception of a political point of view” but a genuine political point of view that is increasingly different from that of most Americans.
