Though many of us find David Broder of the Washington Post the next best thing to Sominex, he is undeniably the dean of Washington political correspondents. That’s why I agree with Powerlineblog that Broder?s tepid assessment of Kerry does not bode well for the challenger:
“[T]he choice for the country becomes one of confirming an executive with visible and even fundamental shortcomings or entrusting the presidency to a man whose habits of mind and of action are far removed from the challenges of the White House.”
