I just couldn’t stop laughing at the news today: Seems that the “U.S. GI” supposedly captured in Iraq and photographed for a jihadi website by the outfit that calls itself the Mujahedeen Brigades was actually a plastic doll!

First the U.S. military announced that no units in Iraq had reported anyone missing. Then, as CNN reports:

“Liam Cusack, of the toy manufacturer Dragon Models USA, Inc., said the image of the soldier portrayed in the photo bore a striking resemblance to a military action figure made by the company.”

Matt Drudge has the photo (of a guy, who indeed does look a wee bit plastic, wearing brand-new-looking desert camouflage backed up against a banner that reads “There is no God but God and Muhammad is his prophet”) posted on his website today–along with a photo of the Dragon Action figure kit and an enlargement of the head.

Of course we don’t know for sure that the supposed GI is actually a doll–but you can take a look at the photos on Drudge and decide for yourself. Me, I got a case of the giggles.

I think the Mujahedeen Brigade saw one too many showings of Team America World Police.
