Andrew Sullivan is on the warpath about a new children’s book entitled “Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed.” The book, adorned with ugly caricatures of a witchy Hillary Clinton and a bloated Teddy Kennedy, is the saga of some children who open a lemonade stand only to get in trouble with liberal regulations.

John Podhoretz has called Andrew humorless. A Boston Globe story has shown that this sort of thing happens in real life. But I’m on Andrew’s side in this one — sort of. Andrew objects to the indoctrination — I object to the further politicization of children. Whether it’s kids for Kerry or kids against regulations, bitter, politically-driven children are among the true horrors of our age.
