Washington Post press reporter Howard Kurtz has a piece today on the state of the media: more outlets (including those annoying blogs), but fewer reporters because of the financial conditions of those big city dailies that used to dominate the news biz.


For Kurtz this is bad news. Is the republic imperiled by the numerical decline in reporters?  At one point, the answer might have been yes. But reporters have become so biased that the answer today is a resounding no.
