People say that POTUS is the most stressful job in the world. I’ll buy that, but I don’t think being Bush’s press secretary is a walk in the park, either. Tony Snow is stepping up to the plate. On first glance, I think he’ll excel. He’s a dynamic speaker and he has a firm grasp of public policy. Hopefully that’ll add up to a good combo for the White House and members of the press.
And, Charlotte (Allen) – if you could avoid future references to The Handmaid’s Tale, that would be splendid. That book gives me nightmares about my freshman lit class at Bucknell. That book was painful (though not as painful as Beloved, which I also had to read in that disaster of a class). Forget reading the classics — I might as well have skipped class and joined Oprah’s book club.
