Our college liaison Allison Kasic complains about the Mainstream Media blackout on the news bombshell released yesterday indicating that the stripper/alleged victim in the Duke lacrosse rape case told police investigators that she’d had three sexual partners on the night of the alleged assault–and they weren’t Duke lacrosse players, but, rather, her boyfriend plus two of her drivers. (See Allison’s post “More on Duke,” today below) Seems the number three is really on this gal’s mind when it comes to the male sex. On the basis of her radically changed story, three members of Duke’s lacrosse team have been indicted for felony sexual assault and obliged to post huge bails. And back in ’96, whe also reported having been raped by–you got it!–three men.

Yes, the Mainstream Media may believe that since the three players are white males (and the alleged victims was black, they must be gulty, ‘cuz even though all three players are Northeastern preppies, Duke is in North Carolina, where, oh, 150 years ago, white slaveholders routinely raped black women. Oh, and we all know that preppies are arrogant jerks and all-around Bad People. But not the intrepid Fox News, which has the complete story (hat tip: La Shawn Barber, who’s been blogging the heck out of the Duke case) on the contents of the 1,300 pages of prosecution documents turned over by District Attorney Mike Nifong yesterday. Here’s an excerpt from the Fox report:

“Defense sources also say the accuser admitted to having had sexual intercourse with at least three men around the time of the alleged attack. According to those sources, when investigators questioned her after DNA tests on the semen found inside her body did not match any of the Duke players, the accuser gave police the name of her boyfriend and two men who drove her to her dancing engagements.”

Here’s more:

“The woman also originally claimed that a second dancer who accompanied her to the party, Kim Roberts, was inside the bathroom during the alleged rape, the sources said. The accuser claims she was assaulted and sodomized in that bathroom for about a half an hour and that she tried to fend off her attackers.

“When police asked Roberts whether she was in the room at the time, Roberts reportedly told police, ‘that’s a crock.’

And here’s more:

“[S]sources told FOX News that the accuser allegedly did not tell the officer who met her at a supermarket after responding to a 911 call that she had been raped. Later, the woman told a doctor at a mental health facility that she had been sexually assaulted. She later denied that claim to a police officer when she arrived at the Duke hospital for care.”

Hmm, whom to believe, right?

Meanwhile, do not miss the post by our policy veep Carrie Lukas on this column by the National Journal’s Stuart Taylor which contains Taylor’s own indictment. And it’s not of any lacrosse players (Taylor says he’s 85 percent certain they’re innocent), but of Nifong, the craven Duke administrators and faculty members who have already deemed the players guilty on zero evidence, and–get this!–the equally craven Mainstream Media journalists for going along with the politically correct charade:

“Many members of the national media have published grossly one-sided accounts of the case while stereotyping the lacrosse players as spoiled, brutish louts and glossing over the accuser’s huge credibility problems.”

Love ya, Stuart!
