In a piece that urges us to “make levees, not war,” NOW President Kim Gandy argues that, if we weren’t fighting in Iraq, we’d have more money to throw down a rathole in New Orleans.

Note to the Kimster: The problems in New Orleans are not about money. They are about local and statewide corruption and a happy go lucky attitude towards life on the part of the locals that is fun while it lasts. But when it’s gone, you’ve got a mess big fat mess on your hands. The only thing that can bring New Orleans back is something it hasn’t had since it’s early days: an entrepreneurial spirit.
