As I noted in an earlier post, the Persian fashion-brigade recently launched an assault against women daring to don skimpier, shorter, brightly-colored garments as summer sets in.
But now, as Reuters reports, the police are forbidding barbers to provide haircuts “in the style of Hollywood” or pluck the eyebrows of their male customers. Particular offensive to Islamic values, it would appear, is the spiking of “hair in the Khorusi (rooster) style” and the use of makeup by men.
“Metrosexuality” is out, and violators may be fined, lashed and imprisoned.
It would appear men (and roosters) are not exempt from the mullahs’ monomania.
