Duke prosecutor Mike Nifong goes on trial today. His overzealous pursuit of members of the lacrosse team has been a boon to defense attorneys:
“Yes, we work it in,” says Keith Hampton, a leader in the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, which has 2,800 members. “People are using it, just as prosecutors got as much juice as they could out of the O.J. Simpson case for awhile.”
