The Olympics start today. Like most sports fans, I’m excited to watch the action over the next two weeks, especially the swimming events. But as fun as the Olympics are, they are also a stark reminder of the dark side of Title IX. While Title IX has been a major boost for female athletes, it has also resulted in far too many cuts of men’s programs. Men’s Olympic sports have been the hardest hit by Title IX’s flawed enforcement mechanisms.
To that end, I have an article today on Title IX’s assault on swimming over at Townhall.com. Halima Karzai and I also recently recorded a podcast on the same subject.
