I mentioned on Inkwell last week an article from Rueters quoting scientist Paul Crutzen as saying the current economic slow down will be good for the environment.  Perhaps Crutzen spoke too soon, as Paul Harvey would say, “… and now for the rest of the story.”  Not only are the tough economic times affecting the demand for oil, but the move towards clean energy may be negatively affected as well.  Read here as Keith Johnson asks, “Going Down: What Will Falling Oil Prices Do to Clean Energy?”
