Portland Trying a Little Too Hard to Become the Greenest City in the U.S.

At a cost of $140,000 per toilet, the City of Portland introduced its first solar-powered, public toilet on Monday.  According to reports, at the ceremony, and of course there was a ceremony, “Mayor-elect Sam Adams gave the fancy new toilet its first ceremonial flush and Commissioner Randy Leonard was awarded an honorary golden plunger.”  I suppose you wouldn’t just use any old plunger on such a fancy toilet.
