Trial lawyers are often the big winners when the Dems are in control, and this year is, of course, no different.  The 111th Congress is poised to pass the so-called “Paycheck Fairness Act” and the only ones likely to benefit from this legislation is the plaintiff’s attorneys who will be filing the lawsuits and raking in big settlements.  This legislation will essentially do away with any statute of limitations in a case dealing with pay discrimination, among other things.  As a result, years after an alleged discriminatory event occurs, when the majority of the players have likely moved on and forgotten the decisions they made or the reasons for them, employees will still have the ability to sue.  Click here for a must read about the “Paycheck Fairness Act” from the WSJ.
