In January, I posted on Inkwell an article from England about a program many cities were adopting called Heatseekers.  Heatseekers sent vans out into the night to snap thermal images of homes to determine if they were properly insulated or not.  They would then send the photographs to the homeowners with instructions on how to better insulate their homes.  Fast forward two months and now these cities are going high tech and sending a spy plane into the sky to take these photographs.  According to the latest article on the environmental snooping going on overseas, “Thermal imaging cameras are being used to create colour-coded maps which will enable council officers to identify offenders and pay them a visit to educate them about the harm to the environment and measures they can take.”  So now you aren’t just getting a letter, you are getting a visit from city officials.  Click here to read more about this program.
