The Senate passed a nonbinding resolution yesterday to use funds generated by a cap-and-trade scheme (aka global warming tax) to fund President Obama’s $400 per individual or $800 per couple tax credit beyond 2010.  Unfortunately, most conservative estimates on how much a global warming tax will cost the average family put the cost over $1,200 annually.  With this estimation likely on the low end, a $400 tax credit isn’t going to do a whole lot for a single parent trying to make ends meet.
