After burying a report showing the success of D.C. voucher program, it takes a lot of audacity for the Education Secretary to write a piece entitled “School Reform Means Doing What’s Best for Kids.”  Yet that’s what’s in today’s Wall Street Journal, and it is certainly a lot of nice sounding rhetoric about the need for stringent evaluation and a commitment to true reform.

But why should we believe this guy?  He just sat silently as his Administration and Congress colluded to kill a program that has been shown to benefit kids, while the supposedly all important evaluation is still ongoing.  It’s really more than audacious — it’s galling.
