Senator Barbara Boxer, the Democrat Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, recently spoke to The Hill newspaper about the CRU email scandal…but apparently it isn’t the substance of the emails that bothers her…its the method in which they were revealed. Says Boxer:
“You call it ‘Climategate’; I call it ‘E-mail-theft-gate,'”
Well…that’s not very catchy. She then added:
“We may well have a hearing on this, we may not. We may have a briefing for senators, we may not,” Boxer said. “Part of our looking at this will be looking at a criminal activity which could have well been coordinated. “This is a crime,” Boxer said.
We can play that game too. What Senator Boxer calls a “hacker,” I might call a “whistleblower. Remember “whistleblowers,” Senator Boxer? At one time you were one of the Senate’s greatest champions for whistleblower protections, fighting to protect whistleblowers in nearly every arena–military personnel, defense contractors, U.S. Marshalls, public employees, transportation workers and medical personnel.
But, I guess you only advocate protecting those whose whistles you approve of blowing.
