Dr. Donald Berwick, the recess appointment to run Medicare and Medicaid, is a self-proclaimed fan of the UK’s NHS. I wonder what the doc would make of this story:

“Four babies died at an NHS heart unit where managers were trying to raise the number of patients being treated in order to avoid closure, according to a damning report.”

Sure, we have medical horror stories in the country. But I can’t help thinking that Power Line’s summary is correct: “That’s socialized medicine for you. It’s great for bureaucrats and dangerous only if you’re a patient.”

Power Line also has the GOP chart on the structure of our new health care system: “It will employ a great many bureaucrats, just like the NHS.”
