This sounds nice:

America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world.

But is this really the most important goal?  Too many college graduates have little skills of use to the real world and tens of thousands of dollars of debt (and no, more subsidies won’t solve the problem, that will just lead colleges to raise tuition even higher as they’ve done in the past).  Shouldn’t the goal be skill attainment rather than just getting a piece of paper?  Before encouraging everyone to go to college, people should take a hard look and make sure they are going to get their money’s worth.
