Reporters seem to be picking up on what IWF has been saying for years–women want workplace flexibility. Washington Post reporter Brigid Schulte covers this topic in a piece for the weekend Post called Movement to Keep Moms Working is Remaking the Workplace.
Schulte describes how whole cottage industries have cropped up dedicated to placing highly qualified and educated women into firms that offer the flexibility they desire.
And while she avoids the so-called “wage gap” issue and doesn’t mention that some women will take a pay cut in order to achieve flexibility, she does make clear that women want these jobs and the market is reacting by creating these workplace arragmentments for women.
I’m glad the Post is waking up to this issue.
