For those suffering from Walmart Derangement Syndrome (WDS), about which I wrote last week, the SCOTUS ruling won’t matter.  Nor, for that matter, did the merits of the original case.


WDS sufferers only want to see an end to Walmart…period.  They don’t care if stores are shuttered, if millions are laid off, if consumers lose a low-cost source of products.


Unions–perhaps the most vocal WDS patients–will, no doubt, spin the ruling as a defeat for the little guy but for millions of Americans making very little or making nothing at all, this ruling protects a solid source of employment and affordable merchandise.
