Our friend Veronique de Rugy at the Mercatus Center’s latest graph shows how – shockingly! – spending has increased… yet unemployment hasn’t dropped below that mythical promised level of 8 percent. Funny, isn’t it?
Kind of reminds me of that old Tennessee Ernie Ford song, whose chorus is “you load sixteen tons and what do you get – another day older and deeper in debt. St. Peter don’t you call me ‘cause I can’t go… I owe my soul to the company store.”
