After reading Sabrina's post about the eating habits of men and women and considering the truly frenzied approach federal and state government officials are taking to combating the so-called "obesity epidemic," (Blame salt! Blame trans-fats! Blame soda! Blame snack foods! Blame Paula Deen!), one has to wonder if some ambitious HHS official will float the idea of segregated eating…as in, men over here and women over here (you know, Saudi style).

If indeed the research is correct that men consume more calories in the presence of women, and since more calories lead to obesity and since the federal government has an interest in reducing obesity in order to reduce the health care costs associated with diseases related to obesity, it naturally follows that men should be protected from the negative impact of women.
