With all due respect to Charlotte, I’d like to point out something that she overlooked in her post this morning on the White House’s Alice-in-Wonderland party.

One of the paragraphs that wasn’t included in her excerpt notes that the event was “an invitation-only affair for children of military personnel and White House administrators.”

So… the party was for military children. Which is far less sensational.

In addition, the article states that Johnny Depp and filmmaker Tim Burton sponsored the event – so it wasn’t even a taxpayer-funded boondoggle.

The First Family has made their share of gaffes – but in my opinion, this wasn’t one of them.
