The term “War on Women” has become a pillar to the Left’s party platform in the 2012 campaign pitting supporters of limited government against women. In Liberty Is No War on Women, co-authors, Lukas and Schaeffer, take this charge apart – debunking the idea that there is a GOP “War on Women.”

They demonstrate that the liberals’ recipe for ever-bigger government backfires on women by eroding opportunity and true financial security, and explain how returning power to the people is the real key to women’s freedom and prosperity.

Divided into two parts, the book explores the Left’s claim that America is a land inherently hostile to women, replete with sexism, which needs greater government oversight and regulation so that women have the chance to succeed. In the second section, Lukas and Schaeffer describe the real threat to women’s advancement and security: A government that is discouraging job creation through over-regulation and taxation, subsidizing an inherently flawed education system, advancing costly and innovation-discouraging regulations of our health care system, undermining civil society including family formation, and accumulating a debt that will burden the next generation.

Lukas and Schaeffer conclude by offering their own positive agenda for getting government out of the way so that women and men can both prosper.  They also call on all Americans to reject the “War on Women” rhetoric, which is fundamentally insulting to independent women,  so that we can return to a real discussion of the challenges that face this country.

Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers calls the book "pitch-perfect." And says "it dispels the idea that society is antagonistic to women and instead reminds us of all the ways which women are succeeding today-and can succeed more if the government gets out of the way."

National Review Online columnist Kathryn Jean Lopez says, "InLiberty is No War on Women Carrie Lukas and Sabrina Schaeffer expose the "War on Women" rhetoric that's drenched our media of late for what it is: an unnecessary, unnatural ideological manipulation."
