President Obama is taking to the East Room this afternoon to present ObamaCare as a Mother’s Day gift to America. The Examiner gives a preview of what he is expected to say:

“Mothers are the number one validator for the young and uninsured and will be critical in the effort to encourage their kids to enroll for insurance in the fall,” a White House official said, previewing Obama’s pitch. ” The audience for the event is comprised of representatives from women’s organizations that will help amplify the benefits of the [Affordable Care Act] for women and help us communicate with millions of women the benefits that are now available to them and their families.”

But if you really look at this, the president isn’t giving a Mother’s Day gift. He is asking for one.

He is telling mothers that they must get their healthy kids to purchase health insurance policies—policies that have been made extremely expensive because of government-mandated add-ons—or ObamaCare won’t be solvent. Obama health adviser Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel admitted this in a Wall Street Journal article, and IWF’s Carrie Lukas dissected what Emanuel was saying.

In his quest to promote his immensely unpopular health reform, the president has said this:

“I think that any time you’re implementing something big, there’s going to be people who are nervous and anxious about is it going to get done, until it’s actually done,” he said. “And for the 85 to 90 percent of Americans who already have health insurance, they’re already experiencing most of the benefits of the Affordable Care Act even if they don’t know it.”

He got that right—if indeed there are Americans benefiting from the Affordable Care Act, they don’t know it.
