PRESS CALL ADVISORY

EXPERTS TO DISCUSS WHY RAISING THE MINIMUM WAGE IS STILL A BAD IDEA
More Economic Growth – Not Raising the Minimum Wage – is the Real Key to Rising Wages and More Opportunity

(Washington, D.C.) – On Wednesday, April 30th, at 10:30 a.m., the Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) will host a press call to discuss why raising the federally-mandated minimum wage to $10.10 an hour is an ineffective tool against poverty and would hinder low-income workers' prospects.

iWF Executive Director Sabrina Schaeffer will detail the problem with a higher mandatory minimum wage, explain why Democrats' pledge to boost the federally-mandated wage nearly 40 percent is a counterproductive way to help families on the brink and what it would mean for businesses, the labor market, and the economy at large.

Schaeffer will take questions at the end of the call.
