We all want women to be able to pursue their dreams – whether it’s to become the CEO of a major corporation, a stay-at-home mother, a doctor, or a professional athlete.
American women’s progress in recent decades has been remarkable. However, there is more we can do so that all women have the opportunity to live prosperous lives so their families and communities can thrive.
As conservatives, we commit to work for women, advance their needs and the needs of their families to:
-
Encourage a more dynamic, innovative, and flexible workplace so women can flourish in their jobs and create the balance they need at home.
-
Ensure women have equal opportunity and equal pay for equal work.
-
Make sure women keep more of what they earn so they can save for the future and prepare for critical expenses like child care, time off from work, college, and retirement.
-
Reform our safety net so that it helps those truly in need and addresses the problem of poverty that affects too many American families.
-
Support sensible paid leave policies so that women can afford to take time off to care for a new child, an aging parent, or themselves in a way that makes sense for her and her employer.
- Advance policies that help women and families by removing stifling government regulations that destroy economic opportunity and make life needlessly expensive.
