Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch joins The Resistance in a video that is posted on the Facebook page of the Senate Democrats–and I don't think it is going to do anything to calm people down for civil discourse. Quite the contrary.
The former attorney general doesn't mention President Trump, but she doesn't need to to present a dark America created by The One Who Must Be Resisted. It is a remarkable message coming from the nation's former top lawyer. She says:
I know that this is a time of great fear and uncertainty for so many people. I know it’s a time of concern for people who see our rights being assailed, being trampled on, and even being rolled back. I know that this is difficult, but I remind you that this has never been easy.
And the call to action:
We have always had to work to move this country forward to achieve the great ideals of our founding fathers. And it has been people, individuals who have banded together, ordinary people who simply saw what needed to be done and came together and supported those ideals, who have made the difference.
They’ve marched. They’ve bled. Yes, some of them have died. This is hard. Every good thing is. We have done this before; we can do this again.
On what planet does Ms. Lynch dwell? Is she trying to incite riots? As Hot Air notes, Ms. Lynch doesn't quite seem plugged into reality:
What in the hell is she talking about? Lynch says people see their rights being “rolled back.” Is she talking about illegal immigrants? Is she talking about Planned Parenthood funding? Who can tell?
As for the marching and bleeding and dying, Lynch isn’t calling for violence but she is suggesting ‘the resistance’ will themselves be victims of violence. Maybe she hasn’t been keeping up on current events but just as often these days it’s the left dishing out the violence and then justifying it because their opponents are “Nazis.” That includes a recent attack on a college professor who wound up in a neck brace. There were shots fired at police during Dakota Access Pipeline protests. A man who put out a street fire set by protesters on inauguration day and who got punched in the back of the head for it. A woman who got pepper-sprayed for expressing support for Trump. Just this weekend there was a rally by Trump supporters in Berkeley. It turned into a brawl after anti-fascist protesters showed up. Maybe Lynch missed this?

To repeat: This is the former attorney general of the United States. This was posted on the Facebook page of Senate Democrats. It is not quite inciting riots but it is very close to doing so.
