Senate Passes A #GoodDealForWomen
Another Step Closer to Much-Needed Tax Relief for All Americans
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Independent Women’s Forum Senior Policy Analyst Patrice Onwuka offered the statement below following 51-48 Senate passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, setting up final vote in House:
"We commend the Senate for coming together and passing this historic tax reform plan. Too many Americans are struggling day-to-day and living paycheck-to-paycheck, but this bill will deliver to them much-needed tax relief.
"More than tax cuts for individuals, reforms in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will strengthen American businesses and stimulate economic growth leading to better-paying jobs and wage increases for workers. This plan will unleash the power of private enterprise. Greater economic freedom will lead to more opportunity and prosperity for women and families.
"We look forward to the bill overcoming final hurdles and President Trump signing it into law before Christmas."
