Kanye West ignited the internet earlier in the week for praising a conservative black commentator for her independent thinking.

West has since doubled down on his opposition to suppression of thought and speech tweeting:

@kanyewest: You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don't agree with everything anyone does. That's what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought. 12:30 PM – 25 Apr 2018

@kanyewestFree thinkers don't fear retaliation for your thoughts. The traditional thinkers are only using thoughts and words but they are in a mental prison. You are free. You've already won. Feel energized. Move in love not fear. Be afraid of nothing. 12:21 PM – 25 Apr 2018

He even tweeted a photo of a signed Make America Great Again hat, President Trump's campaign slogan and his love for President Trump.

Kim Kardashian stepped into the limelight for the first time. Although she reminded her husband that he doesn't agree with everything the president does, she stood by her husband who she says the media is now trying to demonize.

In a series of tweets she sets the media and critics straight:

@KimKardashian: To the media trying to demonize my husband let me just say this… your commentary on Kanye being erratic & his tweets being disturbing is actually scary. So quick to label him as having mental health issues for just being himself when he has always been expressive is not fair 3:13 PM – 25 Apr 2018

@KimKardashian: Mental Health is no joke and the media needs to stop spitting that out so casually. Bottom line 3:40 PM – 25 Apr 2018

The West family has been notorious for using social media to sell their brands, products, and themselves.

At least this time, they are coming to the defense of a cause that we should all rally around: freedom of thought.

The hyperpolarization in our nation has segregated Americans into two camps with no room for people to be in the middle. The media's unequal treatment of the Trump presidency leaves those who support the Trump agenda as victims of media and social media attacks.

Black and Hispanic conservatives of who are supporters of the president have faced pernicious attacks, often from those who share their skin color but differ in politics.

Finally, they have a voice in entertainment which amplifies a point we have always held: your color should not dictate your philosophical views or politics.
