We were rightly appalled at Roseanne Barr's tweet about former presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett which led to ABC's quick action in cancelling the show.
However, don't expect comedian Samantha Bee to suffer similar consequences from her sickening remarks about Ivanka Trump. In response to a tweeted picture of Ivanka and her son hugging, Ms. Bee said this:
You know, Ivanka, that’s a beautiful photo of you and your child, but let me just say, one mother to another, do something about your dad’s immigration practices you feckless c—!
He listens to you! Put on something tight and low cut and tell your father to f—ing stop it. Tell him it was an Obama thing and see how it goes.
TBS, which is part of Turner Broadcasting System, which also owns CNN, TNT and HLN airs Bee's show "Full Frontal."
Bee is being honored for "advancing social change" through her show by the Television Academy.
It appears that Bee's remarks are getting scant coverage in the mainstream media.
This just in: Samantha Bee has apologized. Wonder if suspensionsby advertisers State Farm and Autotrader were a factor?
Unfortunately, Sally Field has just weighed in to say that Bee's original insult was too nice.
Sorry to see Sally Field, who was in one of my favorite movies, contributing to the coarsening of society.
