Karla Jacobs is a visiting fellow with the Independent Women’s Forum. She is the current chair of the Georgia Commission on Women and was first appointed a commissioner to the GCW by Governor Nathan Deal in 2012. She is also a member of Georgia’s Criminal Justice Coordinating Council Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force. She is a freelance writer, a soccer mom, and a community volunteer.

Karla has a BA in Literary Studies and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. Her work has appeared in National Review Online, The Federalist, and Acculturated. Karla lives in Marietta, Georgia with her husband and their two teenage children.
