The economy’s momentum continued with the addition of 250,000 jobs added in October and bigger paychecks.

The monthly jobs report released today indicates positive economic news in the labor force especially for job seekers.

The monthly gain of 250,000 jobs beat the monthly average of 211,000.

Here are bright spots in today’s report:

  • More women gained employment rising from 53.8 to 54.3 million
  • Gains in healthcare, manufacturing, construction, transportation, and warehousing
  • Labor force participation rate for all workers increased (0.2 percent)
  • Over the year, average hourly earnings have increased by 83 cents, or 3.1 percent.

The economy is humming and that means workers can more easily find jobs and job seekers can command higher salaries and benefits when they get a new job.

This is more evidence that Americans should be confident about the direction of our economy and how it’s making their lives #betteroffnow.
