IWF welcomes Marilyn Quigley as one of our new visiting fellows. Marilyn is a professor emerita of English at Evangel University and is interested in the area of parenting.
Meet Marilyn below.

Marilyn has taught at Evangel University for over 30 years. While teaching, she directed the composition program, taught advanced and creative writing and literature courses, and designed and supervised the required writing proficiency exam.
Marilyn also has five years’ experience teaching high school followed by ten years focused mainly on her home and family while publishing free lance articles, church curriculum, short stories, and a children’s musical, From Pit to Palace (1978). Following retirement, she has been active in the university Auxiliary in which she has held several offices and in heading various church committees.
In 2003, Marilyn traveled to Belgium to research her first book Hell Frozen Over: The Battle of the Bulge (2004), which focuses on her uncle and his 106th Division compatriots caught in Hitler’s final thrust for power. In the five years following, Marilyn and her uncle were frequent guest speakers at local organizations. Her recently published children’s novel, Journey to Elsewhere (2020), is a time travel story featuring the Underground Railroad. Another historical novel for children set in 1944 is ready for submission. Marilyn’s poetry has placed in contests, and she occasionally adds blogs to her FaceBook Journey to Elsewhere page. Her most recent articles urging her peers to take the COVID-19 vaccine were published in RealClearScience and Genetic Literacy Project.
Marilyn edits newsletters and books, speaks to writing groups, mentors young women, keeps in close contact with three grandchildren and two sons, plays violin in church orchestra, and sometimes takes watercolor lessons. Marilyn lives in Springfield with her husband.
Welcome to IWF, Marilyn!
