The October 2021 #IWFReads Author Chat featured IWF senior fellow Naomi Schaefer Riley and her latest book, No Way to Treat a ChildHow the Foster Care System, Family Courts, and Racial Activists Are Wrecking Young Lives.

The American child welfare system is bent toward protecting adults, not children who are in danger. Kids are treated as instruments to promote the rehabilitation of their parents, the welfare of their communities, and the social justice of their race and tribe.

Naomi’s book focuses on how political correctness harms the smallest and weakest among us: kids who need homes. This book helps to expose the very real problems in the current system and aims to make changes that needlessly put young lives at risk.

If we want the best for kids, we need to focus on the problems and how to make the system work for our most vulnerable kids, instead of it being riddled with idealism, disinformation, and bigotry.
