Florida parents have a new tool in their arsenal to push back on the “awokening” of little minds. No wonder the left is going out of its way to discredit any Blacks aligned with it.

As a Black mother of three boys, this writer is keenly aware of the racial-oppression rhetoric her school-age boys will be privy to as they grow up.

The media, television, and perhaps even their educators will try to convince them that they can only go so far because they lost the race lottery.

I already caught PBS’s/HBO’s “Sesame Street” trying to brainwash my toddlers with its “Power of One” episode.

The trusted kids’ program actually employed Elmo to explain why some monsters need to segregate into groups with their own fur color for grievance sessions.

However, my husband and I will be anti anti-racists, countering poisonous victimhood falsehoods with the anecdote of our own experience.

Our boys were born to two immigrants who overcame social and economic challenges, amassed five degrees between us, built careers, and own businesses.

They will know that mommy and daddy are the embodiment of the American Dream.

Racism exists in America, just as prejudice exists in every planet on earth.

It’s a part of human nature.

However, our kids will also know that no one owns them nor does their ethnicity limit their potential. I hope this is the message that they receive in school as they learn about U.S. history and politics.

If we lived in the Sunshine State, that might be the case thanks to a new bill signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla.

The Stop WOKE Act prohibits teaching critical race theory (CRT) in K-12 schools; prohibits school districts and public higher-ed institutions from hiring CRT consultants; and gives employees and families the tools to sue when CRT is forced upon them.

Like many bill signings about educational issues, Gov. DeSantis was flanked by students and parents. Several students appeared to be Black, and that set off the likes of MSNBC host Joy Reid.

She tweeted her response: “This misuse of Black boys is tantamount to child abuse. I would really like to hear the back-story on who these kids were and how they wound up at a DeSantis event. Given how anti-Black DeSantis is, using Black children this way is extra sick.”

Reid took her usual racially-charged, divisive rhetoric against anything conservative to a new low. If she’s looking for child abusers in Florida, perhaps she should start with the Disney employees busted recently in an insidious human trafficking and child predator sting operation.

The children at the signing were participants in an afterschool program created by former NFL player Jack Brewer  a frequent commentator on Newsmax TV.

This writer regularly appears on Newsmax segments with Jack, and he often talks about his American Heroes program that keeps kids off the streets and gives them productive things to do.

Brewer was stunned by Reid’s comments saying, “She has completely humiliated my kids and my program [with] her words and the way that she comes across to black America leaves a stain on all of us.  . . .  I won’t put up with it when it comes to my kids.”

Brewer is threatening to sue Reid for defamation if she doesn’t apologize.

He said he was particularly upset because most of the young boys in the photo are fatherless and rely on his American Heroes program for everything from food and clothing to remedial math tutoring.

Reid owes Brewer, the kids, their parents and Gov. DeSantis apologies for marring their reputation purely out of maliciousness. Not only was what she said insulting, it was false.

Ron DeSantis stands up for giving all parents greater control over what their children are taught in class — whether that’s CRT or gender ideology.

He has also worked to expand school choice in the state, which unequivocally helps Black and minority students excel.

As a recent report by Black Minds Matter finds, “Black students in charter schools outperform Black students in district schools in virtually every grade and subject on the state’s standardized tests.”

Additonally, “Black students in Florida charter schools are outpacing Black students in every state.” Parental empowerment and educational freedom are pro-Black.

Those claiming otherwise are the ones who want Black and minority kids to languish in underperforming public schools while stapling their parents’ mouths shut.

Not surprisingly, they are the defenders of CRT and its manifestations in the classroom and workplace. Race-baiting elites love this social construct because they can deny racial progress, downplay personal responsibility, and exploit history for their own gain and to cement political power for the Democratic Party.

American parents reject being “woke” now that they are awakened to how destructive, divisive, and anti-America CRT is. The left is panicked.

Expect more meltdowns and smear campaigns against attempts to stop CRT, gender ideology, and any other radical indoctrination of our little ones.
